Q: What does RFID-blocking mean?
RFID stands for radio-frequency identification, is a technology that lets a chip in a card use radio waves to communicate over a short distance to allow shoppers make charges by passing a card in front of a terminal. As of 2008, in the US alone there were at least 270 million of these cards in circulation issued by Mastercard, VISA, American Express and Discover, among others. Within a few years this technology will replace all major credit cards. To prevent people from accessing your identity and credit card information wirelessly, all Axess wallets comes with an RFID-blocking pocket.
Q: What do you mean by partially blocking?
Axess wallets comes with designated RFID-blocking pockets; not all pockets are RFID-blocking. In a partially blocking wallet you can still use your access cards in other pockets, while protecting your sensitive cards in the RFID-blocking pocket.
Q: Sometimes the RFID-blocking material seems to be blocking all the pockets?
In the beginning when the wallet is not worn in, the strong RFID-blocking material might block other pockets as well. This will be mitigated when the leather softens. A quick solution is to put anything (a receipt/another card) behind the access card you want to unblock.
Q: Will my cards and money stay in the wallet? Is there a risk of it falling out?
As of this date, there hasn’t been a single report of a card or cash falling out of any of Axess wallets. The vegetable tanned leather and the Saffiano leather is a bit "sticky", the bills and cards will not move inside the wallets.
